What is Kangen Water?
A Kangen Water® machine is a water ionization and filtration system that connects to your kitchen tap. It filters your water and, through electrolysis, produces water across a range of pH levels — from alkaline to acidic — so different water types can be used for different things around the home, like drinking, cooking, and cleaning.
'Kangen' means 'return to origin' in Japanese. Enagic has been producing these machines for more than five decades, using platinum-dipped titanium plates and electrolysis to generate that range of water types. Machines come with a manufacturer's warranty of three to five years and a 30-day return policy, and are sold exclusively through independent Enagic distributors.

Everyday Uses
The machine produces five different water types across a pH range, each suited to a different everyday use around the home — not just drinking water.
- Strong Kangen Water — highest alkaline, around 11.5 pH. Used for tough cleaning jobs and stubborn stains, not for drinking.
- Kangen Water — 8.5–9.5 pH. The everyday drinking and cooking water; also good for watering plants.
- Clean Water — neutral, around 7 pH. For taking medication or preparing infant formula where a neutral pH is preferred.
- Beauty Water — mildly acidic, around 4–6 pH. Used as a skin toner or on hair after washing.
- Strong Acidic Water — around 2.5 pH. For disinfecting surfaces and sanitizing kitchen tools; also usable for basic pet-area cleaning.
In my own home, I use Kangen Water for cooking and for making sure my family has water we actually want to drink. Cutting down on bottled water and the plastic that comes with it has been a side benefit I'm happy about — nothing dramatic, just a practical shift that fits our household.
